Please Excuse Our Dust

Rena

    Rena

Rena is still looking for that perfect home:

Rena is just a little over 2 years old, spayed, Up To Date on shots.  Her story is different from most we hear in rescue.  Rena was found in her home with her owner deceased at 14 months old.  Rena shows all the makings of a great dog, and all the basis of having a good home before her owner passed.

    • Rena still pulls a bit, but is fairly good on leash
    • She is a little over focused on toys, but is learning to release when told.
    • She sits and waits for her food.
    • She is gentle with dogs and most of the time respectful of space.  Even was gentle with the puppies here.
    • Rena does well with other dogs (no cats or small animals, she showed small animal prey drive in an adoption attempt - was returned after harming a cat)
    • Rena loved our nieces, nephews, and grand kids when they were out.
    • Rena does still have a bit of a jumping issue, but is improving.
    • Rena is a blue Brindle, and absolutely beautiful, a must see dog.

Rena has had many inquiries and visits but that right home hasn't come along for her yet.  She did get adopted with one of our puppies, and did great in the  home with the puppy, but had an incident with the cat, and ultimately the cat didn't make it.  Adopters said she looked up in the trees when noise was made looking for presumably squirrels.  Cats, small dogs, and small animals are not recommended for Rena.  Rena enjoys her time in the exercise yard, and once has ran off her energy, loves to sun bathe.  She has never dug, tried to escape, or jump fences unsupervised.  She does hate rain and will sometimes throw on the brakes at the door, but when nudged forward will reluctantly go out.  We have been working with Rena and she now reluctantly lets us clip her nails.  She has still needed to be muzzled a few times.  She has never offered to bite over it, but body language said she could, so was muzzled for safety.  She continues to improve.  I can typically get through her front feet now, before she starts reading this way.

Rena's adoption fee is $350, comes with leash, collar, jacket, toys, treats, and dog bed.

If you would like to visit Rena please call Love. A Pit Rescue at 503-334-6601 to make an appointment.

No digital applications, come meet dogs, and we will go from there.

    Adoption process and contract applies.
