Ashe

    Ashe

We are still learning Ashe.  We will build her bio as we get to know her better.

What we know as of now.

Ashe was called in by a resident in a neighborhood.  Resident said there was a grey pit bull laying in their yard growling at them.  AC responded.  Diamond growled a bit at the AC Officer, but was able to be catch poled and loaded safely into the vehicle.  Shelter noted growling at staff early on, and was unable to be vaccinated immediately when she came in.  She got better in the shelter as time went on, but because of her behavior, her time came up quick in the shelter.  We gathered information on Diamond and decided to pull her.

           Here is where things turn:

Ashe has never growled at our transport staff.  They absolutely adored her.  She has never growled at us.  I had never even heard her growl until the other day when she met my neighbor for the first time, and then it was a small, low growl.  When I told her no, and that he was ok, she stayed on guard, but didn't growl any more.  She even eventually sniffed him as we stood there and talked for a while.

Ashe seems to be friendly with other dogs, but shows signs she could be a dominant force in a household with other dogs.  I haven't had time to sit down and read her notes to see if Diamond was ever tested with dogs while she was there.  I seem to recall a note saying after being in the play yard for a while, she actively participated with other dogs, but was leery and kept a close eye on the handlers.  Ashe has shown signs that she is likely Dog Selective.  Her reactions have been to the same dogs that other dogs react to that have a tendacy to be higher strung, but she reacts stronger then the other dogs.

This bio will change, and more photos will be added as she opens up and we learn our Ashe so we can know what her best fit may be.
